We eat to live. The better we eat, the better we will live. But ultimately, what foods do for us?
Food is important because provides our body the nutrients that he needs. We call nutrients to chemical elements or compounds that are essential for the functioning of our body:
- Provide us energy to live.
- Working in the formation and renewal of our cells and tissues.
- They are present in other chemical reactions and transformations of our bodies (what we call metabolism).
Nutrients are divided into macronutrients and micronutrients.
FALSE: Everything that has calories should be abolished from our food.
TRUE:
It is because the caloric value of food that our body can work
internally (organ function) and allows us to move on (whether to lift an
arm or run an hour). The greater the intensity of our movements, the
more we need to eat calories, so that the athletes need to eat more than
those who do not practice sport.
FALSE: The eggs are a great side dish of meat and fish.
TRUE:
Eggs are protein elements. They are not a good accompaniment, because
they are nutritionally similar to meat and fish. The protein is
concentrated in the clear. The yolk contains fat and essentially
contributes to the increase of bad cholesterol. So, you should not eat it in excess.
